Well my dearest readers,
As amazing as this summer was the day has come to say my goodbyes to the Moscow office, my dear colleagues and the Charity project that has stolen my heart! <3 This summer internship has been everything, but boring - it has been challenging, multifaceted, exciting... it has sometimes made me get up way too early and go to bed after midnight, but I loved every moment of it!
And as I stood in front of the Regional Senior Management with the results of my charity activities' analysis, emphasizing strategic challenges and suggesting possible solutions, I felt happy and satisfied with the job I have done. And for that I want to thank all the wonderful Oriflamers, who have helped me reach my goal and deliver a coherent strategic charity plan for the CIS & Baltics region. It's been a true pleasure to be a part of such a friendly and positive family :)

I will definitely miss my team..
On the platform, ready to leave Moscow on an express train to Riga, I knew that this wouldn't be my last time at Oriflame :) very soon I reunited with my great friends in Stockholm on the Gold Conference 2012... What a feeling to be celebrating the 45th Anniversary of Oriflame with it's CEO, Founders, 5 000 consultants, Roxette, Demi Moore and Loreen... But a picture's better than a 1000 words, take a look for yourself :)

Yet for now it's a massive THANK YOU Oriflame and everyone who helped me make my dream come true.. the sweet charity mug is now my true friend and companion while I am on a CEMS exchange semester in Vienna, Austria...
but let me share a little secret with you... You'll probably be hearing and seeing more of me in Oriflame, because another dream of a summer intern has come true.. I have been offered the opportunity to continue my project in Moscow :))) a truly splendid ending of a summer internship and an amazing start of a new life journey :)
I wish you all the best of luck and never give up on your dreams! Always strive for the stars, always dare yourself!
Truly yours,

Anna in Russia - Day 64 - Professional happiness :)

You know you've done something right, when a messenger brings an envelope addressed to you.. even though you're just an intern.. Actually, not just some kind of intern.. the Oriflame charity intern :)
And the feeling of a well done job together with your colleagues continues, when this envelope is opened up and a letter of gratitude appears on your desk
This letter is addressed to Oriflame Cosmetics from the Russian Red Cross as a sign of acknowledgement and gratitude for donating humanitarian help for over 1 million rubles to the victims of the flood in Krasnodar region.  This terrible catastrophe has taken lives of people... and many victims lost their homes and everything they had.. As a socially responsible company we couldn't stay in the shadow and be indifferent... Togetherness - one of our values - is what makes us as a company and a global citizen stronger .. and together we can change the world for the better starting with small deeds...
I am utterly grateful to my colleagues Yuriy Mykhaylyuk (our regional director) and Irina Andryanova (territory director of Krasnodar region) for allowing me to work on this project together with them. I feel so grateful to have helped Oriflame support the people in a difficult time ... And of course I would like to express a special "thank you" to our partners on this - a laboratory of social innovations - Cloudwatcher (http://cloudwatcher.ru/) who have helped us realize this project.
Together we are stronger!

Anna in Russia - Day 62 - A wonderful Northern journey...

Publicerad 2012-08-13 23:37:14 i Anna in Russia

My dearest readers,
My wonderful time in Russia is soon coming to an end and I am doing my best to enjoy every second, every minute and every day of it. So this weekend I took a journey to the North.. to visit one of the most magical and picturesque cities of the world - St. Petersburg...
It all began with a 9-hour-train-ride ...
On the top sleeping shelf :) I have to admit - this has been my longest journey on the train so far. Yet I am quite certain that with a territory as vast as Russia it might probably take up to 2 weeks to cross it.
But the ride was comfy and definitely worth it... the magnificent Northern Capital of Russia, the city of culture and architecture that brings your imagination centuries back in time.. I fell in love with this beauty.. take a look yourself!
This is the Winter Palace, where the empress Catherine the Great had her residency.
It dominates the Palace Square, where the atmosphere does indeed bring you back to the times of Tsars and Emperors of Russia...
The view of the St. Isaac's Cathedral, which was originally the city's main church and the largest cathedral in Russia, take one's breath away.. and the view from its colonnade that you have to climb 300 steps up, too presents a truly beautiful Northern city.
And, tradintionally, no sightseeing tour without the souveniers :)
How can you resist these Russian beauties? <3
Yet, the best part was still to come.. As a sign of gratitude to Oriflame for helping me realize my childhood dream of visiting St. Petersburg, I just couldn't forget to stop by our branch in this wonderful city.
I was amazed by the atmosphere and the classiness of the service centre :) such a pleasure to see that Oriflame stands for quality and corporate image in every corner of Russia and world. Welcome to the St. Petersburg office...with the splendid view of Stockholm :))
Well, my dear friends, I hope you enjoyed this small trip as much as I did... Despite my bad cold and a freezingly low temperatures, I managed to have a fantastic weekend thanks to my colleague and friend Lilya and Oriflame :)

Anna in Russia - Day 60 - You've gotta love casual Fridays and Wellness!a

Publicerad 2012-08-10 21:02:33 i Anna in Russia

It makes you feel comfortable and at home when the company you work for takes care of you and acknowledges the fact that work is not always something strictly professional and boring. We at Oriflame have casual Fridays, when the employees are allowed to wear jeans. Surprisingly, it inspires you to bond more with other colleagues, because this "magical" piece of clothes makes everyone more relaxed :) However, I've noticed that my Fridays are extremely productive.
Today the bonding went even better and productivity was tops, after we took a quick Wellness break, during which we made some very yummy Wellness Cocktails. Simple summer ingredients, such as strawberries, nectarines, blackcurrant, bananas and almonds mixed with milk, water and Oriflame Wellness shakes were the perfect "Casual Friday" attribute :) Long live healthy and trendy lifestyle with Oriflame!

Anna in Russia - Day X - Got lost in the calendar :)

My dear readers,

So my “next time” turned out to be way later than I’ve expected and for that I kindly ask you to accept my sincere apologies… but Moscow has taken my breath and my heart away <3

Yet firstly, I have promised to tell the story of the Leaders, who are at the heart of Oriflame’s business.

One of the main lessons I have learned is that motivation and recognition are two core factors needed to keep up the entrepreneurial spirit. Nothing boosts the self-esteem in a positive way as seeing one’s name at the central office of Oriflame in Moscow. Take a peek at the Top 100 Leaders Russia who have realized their dreams with Oriflame.

And this (quite often) is where it all begins – recruitment centre, where people for the first time hear the story from their Sponsors about a unique Swedish company that has changed the life of thousands, if not millions.

Obviously, the exciting extras that make a true Oriflame Leader stand out :)

I think that it’s extremely important to honor the memory of the top leading sales consultant of Oriflame in the world – Tamila Polezhaeva, who sadly passed away. Together with her husband Vladimir, they have inspired hundreds of sales consultants to live their dreams and build business with Oriflame. Today Vladimir and his daughters continue the amazing job and are among the strongest and most significant partners of our company.

And while the Polezhaevi family is the absolute number one Leader, there are uncountable stories of people in CIS & Baltics, who share happiness and gratitude for having Oriflame in their lives. I say this not with the purpose of dull PR, but I say this because I have seen these people and I have heard their true touching stories during the Mega Forum 2012 in Moscow… and I have to admit that quite a few times tears were filling up my eyes.

Their stories is the best proof that determination and entrepreneurial spirit, along with passion and the ability to help others develop, is one powerful philosophy. I sincerely hope that this philosophy will always remain at the heart of Oriflame :)

Anna in Russia - Day 20: Welcome to the Moscow Office!

Publicerad 2012-07-02 22:09:00 i Anna in Russia

Dear Oriflame readers,
It's been three weeks since I joined the Oriflame team in Moscow, yet I haven't shown you around. Let's take a walk around the office :)
The emphasis on the international perspective of the company can be seen from the different clocks - CIS & Baltis is undoubtedly a huge region, with only Russia covering 9 time zones (!). This definitely needs to be taken into account, when communicating with our regional colleagues.
The office is very bright and the only "strict" policy around here is the open door policy :) every employee is always welcome to stop by and discuss ideas, ask questions no matter if he or she is the Head of the region or a summer intern, like me. So as you can see, Oriflame applies transparency not only in its operations, but also in every aspect of its business.
Another significant aspect the modern business is following is the eco-paradigm, that has changed the way commerce is conducted around the world. As an environmentally responsible and committed company, Oriflame applies this in its policies and obviously its product lines - eco beauty. Here's a creative way we remind ourselves that a beautiful planet is our responsibility.
Next time I'll show you the part of the corporate office in Moscow, where our main partners create their business networks and realize their dreams - namely the service centre and the training area of our consultants and leaders. Stay tuned and you'll find out who the top leaders of Oriflame are :)

That's a wonderful thing about working in a Swedish company - no matter in which country and subsidiary you might be - the Swedish spirit and traditions are always present :) and I must admit, those are some great traditions! For example, the longest day and the shortest night of the year, otherwise known as Midsummer, was celebrated with Swedish songs, dances and food. Now that's what I call a real corporate culture... Glad sommar!

Anna in Russia - Day 8

Hey there :)
It's been a little while since my last post, but the amazing city of Moscow and Oriflame are keeping me busy - and I enjoy it! Let's take a closer look at the past week ;)
My internship and work with the Oriflame Foundation and regional charity strategy has officially begun: research on the past and current activities, the history of the foundation and its execution across CIS & Baltics - these are only some of the tasks I've done so far and there are many more to come. Seeing all the pictures of children's happy faces after our company's help is the highest award, but I am certain we can do even more.
The wonderful atmosphere of Oriflame on my work desk makes the time at the office pleasant and motivating :)

In my spare time I enjoyed the amazing celebration and concert dedicated to the Day of Russia aka Russia's Birthday, which took place on the Red Square :) Thousands of people, celebrity singers and great music - a splendid start of my stay in Russia. Unbelievable experience of listening to life music performed by the starts I used to see on TV.. With Oriflame dreams do become true ;)

And of course the highlight of the week - the Oriflame Royal Ball, which opened its doors to all of the wonderful Leaders, who with their hard work and loyalty make the success of Oriflame possible. In the picture my colleagues and I (in blue - I <3 blue!) are ready to join the Ball and celebrate the 45th Birthday of Oriflame. Listening to the inspiring speeches by the CEO Magnus Brännström, VP of Russia Yuriy Mykhaylyuk an SVP and Head of CIS & Balics Mats Palmquist I could feel how important and valuable the commitment of our consultants and leaders is to us... after all, they are the driving force behind Oriflame :)
It takes a magical event with a special guest Totto Kutunio to make a great weekend and remind me of how awesome this internhsip is!
