Anna in Russia - Day 64 - Professional happiness :)

You know you've done something right, when a messenger brings an envelope addressed to you.. even though you're just an intern.. Actually, not just some kind of intern.. the Oriflame charity intern :)

And the feeling of a well done job together with your colleagues continues, when this envelope is opened up and a letter of gratitude appears on your desk

This letter is addressed to Oriflame Cosmetics from the Russian Red Cross as a sign of acknowledgement and gratitude for donating humanitarian help for over 1 million rubles to the victims of the flood in Krasnodar region.  This terrible catastrophe has taken lives of people... and many victims lost their homes and everything they had.. As a socially responsible company we couldn't stay in the shadow and be indifferent... Togetherness - one of our values - is what makes us as a company and a global citizen stronger .. and together we can change the world for the better starting with small deeds...
I am utterly grateful to my colleagues Yuriy Mykhaylyuk (our regional director) and Irina Andryanova (territory director of Krasnodar region) for allowing me to work on this project together with them. I feel so grateful to have helped Oriflame support the people in a difficult time ... And of course I would like to express a special "thank you" to our partners on this - a laboratory of social innovations - Cloudwatcher (http://cloudwatcher.ru/) who have helped us realize this project.

Together we are stronger!

Anna in Russia - Day 62 - A wonderful Northern journey...

My dearest readers,

My wonderful time in Russia is soon coming to an end and I am doing my best to enjoy every second, every minute and every day of it. So this weekend I took a journey to the North.. to visit one of the most magical and picturesque cities of the world - St. Petersburg...

It all began with a 9-hour-train-ride ...

On the top sleeping shelf :) I have to admit - this has been my longest journey on the train so far. Yet I am quite certain that with a territory as vast as Russia it might probably take up to 2 weeks to cross it.

But the ride was comfy and definitely worth it... the magnificent Northern Capital of Russia, the city of culture and architecture that brings your imagination centuries back in time.. I fell in love with this beauty.. take a look yourself!

This is the Winter Palace, where the empress Catherine the Great had her residency.
It dominates the Palace Square, where the atmosphere does indeed bring you back to the times of Tsars and Emperors of Russia...

The view of the St. Isaac's Cathedral, which was originally the city's main church and the largest cathedral in Russia, take one's breath away.. and the view from its colonnade that you have to climb 300 steps up, too presents a truly beautiful Northern city.

And, tradintionally, no sightseeing tour without the souveniers :)

How can you resist these Russian beauties? <3

Yet, the best part was still to come.. As a sign of gratitude to Oriflame for helping me realize my childhood dream of visiting St. Petersburg, I just couldn't forget to stop by our branch in this wonderful city.
I was amazed by the atmosphere and the classiness of the service centre :) such a pleasure to see that Oriflame stands for quality and corporate image in every corner of Russia and world. Welcome to the St. Petersburg office...with the splendid view of Stockholm :))

Well, my dear friends, I hope you enjoyed this small trip as much as I did... Despite my bad cold and a freezingly low temperatures, I managed to have a fantastic weekend thanks to my colleague and friend Lilya and Oriflame :)

Anna in Russia - Day 60 - You've gotta love casual Fridays and Wellness!a

It makes you feel comfortable and at home when the company you work for takes care of you and acknowledges the fact that work is not always something strictly professional and boring. We at Oriflame have casual Fridays, when the employees are allowed to wear jeans. Surprisingly, it inspires you to bond more with other colleagues, because this "magical" piece of clothes makes everyone more relaxed :) However, I've noticed that my Fridays are extremely productive.

Today the bonding went even better and productivity was tops, after we took a quick Wellness break, during which we made some very yummy Wellness Cocktails. Simple summer ingredients, such as strawberries, nectarines, blackcurrant, bananas and almonds mixed with milk, water and Oriflame Wellness shakes were the perfect "Casual Friday" attribute :) Long live healthy and trendy lifestyle with Oriflame!

Anna in Russia - Day X - Got lost in the calendar :)

My dear readers,

So my “next time” turned out to be way later than I’ve expected and for that I kindly ask you to accept my sincere apologies… but Moscow has taken my breath and my heart away <3

Yet firstly, I have promised to tell the story of the Leaders, who are at the heart of Oriflame’s business.

One of the main lessons I have learned is that motivation and recognition are two core factors needed to keep up the entrepreneurial spirit. Nothing boosts the self-esteem in a positive way as seeing one’s name at the central office of Oriflame in Moscow. Take a peek at the Top 100 Leaders Russia who have realized their dreams with Oriflame.

And this (quite often) is where it all begins – recruitment centre, where people for the first time hear the story from their Sponsors about a unique Swedish company that has changed the life of thousands, if not millions.

Obviously, the exciting extras that make a true Oriflame Leader stand out :)

I think that it’s extremely important to honor the memory of the top leading sales consultant of Oriflame in the world – Tamila Polezhaeva, who sadly passed away. Together with her husband Vladimir, they have inspired hundreds of sales consultants to live their dreams and build business with Oriflame. Today Vladimir and his daughters continue the amazing job and are among the strongest and most significant partners of our company.

And while the Polezhaevi family is the absolute number one Leader, there are uncountable stories of people in CIS & Baltics, who share happiness and gratitude for having Oriflame in their lives. I say this not with the purpose of dull PR, but I say this because I have seen these people and I have heard their true touching stories during the Mega Forum 2012 in Moscow… and I have to admit that quite a few times tears were filling up my eyes.

Their stories is the best proof that determination and entrepreneurial spirit, along with passion and the ability to help others develop, is one powerful philosophy. I sincerely hope that this philosophy will always remain at the heart of Oriflame :)
